A different kind of listening

Your body isn't another problem to solve.

Most of us have gotten very good at thinking our way through life. We analyze. Research. Make the pros-and-cons list. Push through. Tell ourselves we're fine.

And when life gets hard, we often double down.

What am I doing wrong? Why am I reacting like this? Why can't I just get over it?

But there's another source of information available to you. Your body.

Your body communicates all the time through sensation, emotion, impulses, tension, ease, energy, boundaries, and intuition.

Learning how to listen changes things. Not because you'll never feel anxious, overwhelmed, angry, or uncertain again, but because those experiences don't have to consume you.

You can learn to stay present with yourself when things get hard, experience an emotion without immediately needing to fix it, fear it, or push it away, and begin trusting yourself to respond.

Wise Body, Wise Woman

What if you stopped treating your body like something to overcome?

An act of reclamation

Your body holds information.

Women receive an extraordinary number of messages telling us otherwise. Change your body. Control it. Ignore the hunger. Push through the exhaustion. Calm down. Be productive. Look younger. Don't be too emotional. Don't take up too much space.

And when something inside us says no, we're often taught to question that, too.

Over time, it's easy to become disconnected from our own signals and unsure of what we actually need.

I believe listening to your body is an act of reclamation.

Safety, rest, pleasure, boundaries, strength, and self-trust aren't rewards you earn after you've finally improved yourself enough. When you create the time, space, and conditions to listen, you may be surprised by what becomes available.

Introducing the experience

Knowing something and embodying it are two different things.

Wise Body, Wise Woman is an eight-week live somatic group experience designed to help you build a different relationship with yourself and your body.

We'll combine nervous system education, Somatic Experiencing principles, restorative yoga, energy work, and spiritual practices to explore what it means to experience strength, presence, boundaries, receptivity, and trust, rather than simply understand them intellectually.

01

Understand

Learn enough about your nervous system and stress responses to recognize what's happening beneath your reactions.

02

Experience

Practice with movement, stillness, restorative yoga, reflection, energy work, and guided somatic exploration.

03

Integrate

Develop your own way of listening to your body's signals and returning to supportive practices in everyday life.

Information matters. But information alone doesn't always create change. Experience does.

What we'll do together

Learn it. Feel it. Live it.

Each week, we'll meet live for 60 minutes. Rather than only talking about strength, boundaries, presence, and trust, you'll have opportunities to notice and experience those qualities in your own body.

Some weeks may involve movement. Others may use stillness, guided somatic practices, restorative yoga, reflection, energy work, or spiritual practices.

There is no single “right” way your body needs to respond. This is about becoming curious about your own experience and gradually learning its language.

Every live session is recorded, with lifetime access to replays and course materials. Our private Facebook community will offer a place to connect, ask questions, and share what you're noticing through December 31.

What can change

The goal isn't to become calm all the time.

The goal is to become better able to stay with yourself when life isn't calm. Through our eight weeks together, the intention is to help you:

Understand what's happening in your body when stress and emotions feel overwhelming
Notice your body's signals without immediately fearing, judging, or overriding them
Move through difficult emotions without becoming consumed by them
Recognize your needs, limits, and boundaries more clearly
Access strength, presence, receptivity, and self-trust through lived experience
Listen to your body's information when you're making decisions
Develop practices you can return to when life gets hard
Reconnect with parts of yourself that have become harder to hear during stress or change
The transformation

Learn to move through difficult emotions without being consumed by them, stay present with yourself when life gets hard, and reconnect with the strength, wisdom, and self-trust already within you.

Does this sound familiar?

This might be for you if…

You are capable, thoughtful, and used to handling a lot. But lately, you might also be:

Second-guessing yourself more than you'd like.
Overwhelmed by feelings you don't quite know what to do with.
Trying to think your way out of something your brain hasn't been able to solve.
Wondering why you understand yourself so well and still react the way you do.
Moving through a life change and asking, Who am I now?
Ready for a different relationship with yourself.

You don't need to arrive feeling fearless. You don't need to be “good” at meditation, yoga, or body awareness. And you definitely don't need to have yourself figured out.

Curiosity is enough.

A note from your guide

Hi, I'm Emily.

I've spent more than 20 years studying the relationship between the body, health, and healing.

I'm a Registered Dietitian, a 500-hour yoga teacher with advanced training in yoga psychology and trauma, and a somatic practitioner trained in Somatic Experiencing. My work also draws from restorative practices, energy work, meditation, and yoga philosophy.

I love science. And I also believe in the undeniable power of more subtle practices that don't come with a catalog of research behind them.

My own life has taught me that, too. During some of my biggest life changes, I could understand what was happening intellectually and still feel completely knocked off course. Learning to listen to my body changed the way I moved through those experiences.

That's a big part of why I created Wise Body, Wise Woman: a space for a small group of women to explore what happens when we stop treating the body like another problem to solve and start listening to what it knows.
